english version:

Hi everybody,

i'm at the chapter 4 of this book (creating normales maps) and i'm blocked at the creation of high definition objects.
I'm using 3DSMax 2012 and the File > new > create new plan doesn't exist inside this new version
Anyone know where i can found this option or something similar in the 2012 version?
thank you by advance

SoftReaper

the french translation of your book "3ds max modeling for games"

i've reach my objective this morning at 2AM (GMT +1), in the translation, the book talks about an option in the new file menu instead of creating a new scene and build a plan inside it (page 57 in the original book in english)

thank you for your help, and this book at the same time

Bonjour SoftReaper,

Are you referring to page 57 in the middle of the page it looks like this :

- Open 3ds Max
- Go to File > New
- Create > Standard Primitives > Box
- Drag a box in the front viewport.

These steps are just explaining the process to start a new file and then the creation of a box.

sorry but i can't be more explicit.

the french traduction of this book is quiet the worst i've ever seen...

i've bought the english version and that immediatly better to understand

in the french version (i'm translating that it said) you create a new plan in 3DSmax by the "file" menu. instead of creating by primitives objects.

wow, I had no idea - apologies.

As I don't speak French, there was no way for me to test it :(
